FIELD: enhanced protection of front, side and hull plates and turret of tank, combat vehicle against the effect of shaped-charge antitank projectiles. SUBSTANCE: use is made of a single-layer or multilayer netted or grid shield made of steel wire or bars, practically optically transparent providing for observation of terrain by the crew and allowing the tank-borne infantry to conduct semi-aimed fire from automatic weapon through this shield suspended from a horizontal beam, providing for turning or rotation of the shield at an impact of a shaped-charge ammunition. The side shield may have two positions - combat position - the shield is removed from the tank hull up to 2-3 m, and travelling position (the shield adjoins the tank side hull plates) due to employment of a parallelogram mechanism formed by a horizontal beam, two brackets fastening the beam to the tank hull, and tank hull. The netted or grid shield consists of separate standardized sections, whose linear length is 1 to 1.5 m, when damaged separate sections are replaced.
