METHOD OF ANALYTICAL ORIENTATION OF PAIR OF AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: photogrammetry. SUBSTANCE: method makes it feasible to orient pair of aerial photographs with due account of approximate elements of internal orientation without preliminary calibration of equipment. Photographs are placed into stereo comparator and are oriented in initial directions. For internal orientation of photographs measurement marks are sighted on to principal points of left and right photographs which readings are used for approximate transfer from coordinate system of device to coordinate system of photographs. Errors caused by approximation of internal orientation of photographs are taken into account during external orientation of model which is realized by affine conversion of object model. Method makes it possible to process aerial photographs taken with use of nonmetric photocameras as well as pictures with variable elements of internal orientation ( videofilms, digital pictures ) with error of determination of elements of internal orientation exceeding measurement errors by factor of 10².
