FIELD: locking devices. SUBSTANCE: rim lock has body, span-piece with toothed rack made in it. Interacting with toothed rack is gear with hole in its end face. Seated in this gear is cylindrical mechanism of door lock. Cylindrical mechanism has following components: external body of mechanism containing spacers with lobes, springs seated on studs, key body, latch body, span-piece detent, key, four-row toothed rack interacting with span-piece and lock body. Four-row toothed rack is covered by lateral span-piece, key-plate of cylindrical mechanism is made splittable. Key is made with even number of lugs namely 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and respective even number of bits. Aforesaid embodiment of lock enhances reliability and widens range of application of lock.
