FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: identification system designed to detection of collection of objects has interrogator and collection of pulse followers. Interrogator includes transmitter which sends at least two independent interrogation signals and receiver that receives response signals from pulse followers. Interrogator also has processor to identify pulse followers by data carried in received response signals. Each pulse follower has receiving aid, code generator and transmitting aid connected to code generator. After reception of at least one of sent interrogation signals pulse follower transmits response signal carrying data identifying pulse follower. Response signals can be sent continuously or discretely. In preferable version of implementation interrogation signals are relatively narrow-band signals of different frequencies. Receiving aid of each pulse follower has relatively wide reception band so that pulse follower responds to any one or more interrogation signals.
