FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes substituted benzotriazoles of general formula (A) wherein R is hydrogen, straight or branched alkyl containing 1-24 carbon atoms, or phenylalkyl containing 7-15 carbon atoms; R2 is straight or branched alkyl containing 1-24 carbon atoms, and phenylalkyl containing 7-15 carbon atoms, said alkyl being substituted by one or more hydroxy groups, or radical of formula -CH2CH2COR5 wherein R5 is NH2 or OR6 wherein OR6 is (OCH2CH2)wOH wherein W is 1 to 12, or R2 is (CH2)m-CO-X(Z)p-Y-R15 wherein X and Y are -O-; Z is alkylene containing 3-12 carbon atoms substituted by hydroxy group; R15 is CO-C(R18= CH2 wherein R18 is hydrogen or methyl, m is 0,1 or 2, and p is 1; R3 is alkyl containing 8-20 carbon atoms, phenyl-alkyl containing 7-15 carbon atoms, aryl containing 6-10 carbon atoms, or R3 is radical of formula wherein E is C2-C12 alkylene, C5-C12 cycloalkylene or E is C8-C12 alkylene interrupted by cyclohexylene, r is 0 or 1. The present invention describes stabilized composition comprising polymer which becomes destructible when exposed to unfavorable effect of actinic radiation, and substituted benzotriazole of formula (A). The present invention also describes covering system comprising effective amount of substituted benzotriazole of formula (A) as stabilizer. The claimed compounds and compositions based on said compounds have higher UV spectral power at higher wave-length values than those of the well known analogs. EFFECT: improved properties of the covering system. 21 cl, 28 ex
