FIELD: determination of spatial positions of axes of boreholes. SUBSTANCE: it is suggested that sensitivity axes of gyroscope should be changed at large zenith angles to prevent loss of normal operation of two-degree-of-freedom gyroscope having system of leveling of principal axis and information determining change of azimuth of inclination plane should be obtained by means of angle transmitter mounted on internal axis of gyroscope. Before this principal axis of gyroscope is brought with the aid of transmitter of moment of external axis to position perpendicular to plane of outer frame, internal frame is stopped with reference to outer frame by means of locator, stopped gyroscope is turned with the help of transmitter of moment of external axis to such position where plane of outer frame comes to vertical plane. Then transmitter of moment and locator are switched off. Transmitter of angle of external axis of gyroscope is sine-cosine rotary transformer which excitation winding is fed with voltage depending on signal of transmitter of internal axis. Signal processing is conducted by control unit that implements required sequence of operations to transfer gyroscope from one operational mode to another. Invention ensures possibility of usage of two-degree-of-freedom gyroscope in down-hole logging instruments of inclinometers designed to take measurement in horizontal boreholes.
