FIELD: instrumentation for oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: this relates to instruments and systems intended for investigation of drilled wells and particularly for spatial determination of angular position of well instrument relative to well itself. Installed in combined well instrument is gyromotor which is located in frame. Axis of frame rotation is perpendicular to axis of rotor rotation and to longitudinal axis of combined well instrument. Installed along axis of frame rotation is torque setting unit. Sent to setting unit from control module are signals which depend on mismatching between preset and current values of apsedal angle. Under action of produced torque, frame with rotor starts rotating with acceleration thus creating gyroscopic moment which is acting along axis of combined well instrument. If aforesaid moment overcomes moment of friction between walls of well and combined well instrument, instrument starts turning towards reduction of mismatching angle. When combined well instrument reaches preset angular position, control module disconnects torque setting unit and combined well instrument stops under action of friction moment.
