FIELD: methods of separating out of sulfur compounds from gas supplied to cleaning system and containing carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide; gas being formed in gasification of spent cellulose liquor. SUBSTANCE: gas cleaning system gas gas-liquid contact zone 5 with working pressure exceeding the atmospheric pressure and regeneration zone 8 with working pressure much lower the pressure in contact zone 5. Partial pressure of carbon dioxide in gas before its introduction into gas-liquid contact zone exceeds 0.2 atm. Then gas is introduced in contact with alkali absorbing liquid (in contact zone), and this liquid containing bound hydrogen sulfide is removed from contact zone and supplied to regeneration zone where hydrogen sulfide is separated from absorbing liquid and withdrawn in gaseous form and it allows efficient separation of sulfur and alkali in reducing system. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 20 cl, 1 dwg
