FIELD: separation of liquid and solid phases of material. SUBSTANCE: determination of the amount of filled moulding material at separation of solid and liquid phases by means of a filtering piston press with one pressing member at several following one another in succession compression processes is accomplished with the aid of analysis of the yield/capacity diagram. Taking into account the lay-out of the lines connecting different operating points on this diagram; and when an intermediate dummy point is obtained, it becomes possible to determine the variations of the yield and capacity for each compression process and thus the used amounts of additional filling in such a manner that the maximum product of yield and maximum capacity are obtained for the processes of separation of solid and liquid phases at selection of free processor values. The method provides for automatic matching of time of filling with material pressureability. It becomes possible to automatically fill various moulding material and without introduction of the preset value attain optimum effect with respect to the yield and squeezing-out of juice by means of filtering press.
