FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes process for preparing fatty acid esters of lower monohydric n-alcohols by transesterification of fatty acid glycerides in the presence of main catalysts. On completion of transesterification, ester phase is washed with glycerol or glycerol phase of previous transesterification stage, glycerol phase is separated and treated with whitening clay, silicic acid or other physical and chemical materials. The claimed process makes it possible to obtain quality product from unrefined native oils without washing with water and without using water-containing acids for neutralization of catalyst in ester form.
