FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: 1,4-diphenyl-3-anilidene is well known analytical reagent for weight determination of nitrate, perchlorate, tungstate and ruthenate anions. The process for preparing nitron reagent is improved by decreasing temperature conditions of process stage 2 to 28-31 C as compared with 50 C in the prototype process, replacing solvents and developing process for recovery of the desired product from reaction mixture. EFFECT: increased yield of, improved process selectivity and smaller amounts of solvents used.
