FIELD: means of protection of human-being against bullets, fragments, thrust and cutting objects. SUBSTANCE: armored jacket has a cloth cover with flexible laminated protective packs of wear-and-tear-proof fabric arranged in it, and pockets located on the cover with rigid armor plates installed in them; the armor plates have a ceramic layer installed on a rigid non-fragile backing; ceramic layer thickness L1 and backing thickness L2 relate as: L0/C0< L1/C1+L2Vp, where L0 - bullet slug length, C0 - velocity of longitudinal waves in bullet slug; C1 - velocity of longitudinal waves in ceramic layer; Vp - bullet velocity. Installed from the outside on the rigid armor plates are anti-ricochet plates made of plastic metal or laminated packs made of wear-and-tear-proof fabric. EFFECT: enhanced protective qualities of armored jacket at an impact of bullets with a high-hardness slug, reduced impact beyond obstacle, reduced probability of hitting by ricochet and improved convenience in use. 5 cl, 3 dwg
