FIELD: means of individual and combination protection against firearm and blank weapon, in particular both individual protective barrier such as armored jacket, protective helmet, etc and protection of military equipment. SUBSTANCE: protective barrier has a frontal ceramic layer and a backing of cellulose- containing material with a specific gravity of 1.05 to 1.30 g/cu. cm. Use of cellulose-containing material instead of glass-reinforced plastic or organoplastic as backing reduces surface density of the backing by 15 to 45%, and that of the protective barrier - by 6 to 20%. Besides, it enhanced adaptability to manufacture of protective barrier and reduces its cost by 10 times and more. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 7 ex, 1 tbl
