FIELD: space engineering; method of control of position of flexible members used as components of spacecraft or independent members, such as cable systems. SUBSTANCE: method consists in applying effort to flexible member forming curvilinear contour in this member for transmission of force pulse in required direction, thus creating travelling deformation waves in flexible member which transfer excess mass of flexible member from one end to other.
