FIELD: space engineering; protection of optical and electronic apparatus of spacecraft. SUBSTANCE: light shield consists of load-bearing frame, cover, cover opening mechanism, electric drive, cover position contact sensors and power supply control device connected to computer for diagnostic checks. Electric drive consists of two autonomous sections with cam secured on common output shaft. This cam is engageable with cover position contact sensors. Each sensor is provided with diagnostic device made in form of electromagnetic coil inside which movable rod with magnet is located. Contacts of cover position sensor may be engageable with power supply device and diagnostic check computer during of rod. EFFECT: enhanced reliability; extended term of functioning of spacecraft in orbit. 4 dwg
