FIELD: perfumery, food and medical industries. SUBSTANCE: method uses extraction to prepare natural maltol as pure product from vegetable stock, e. g. wood greens of Siberian fir. Extracting agent is liquefied carbon dioxide readily separable from extract and forming no by-products. Extraction process is carried out for not more than 3-hours to isolate maltol concentrate containing 97 wt % of total amount of extracted maltol. Method makes it possible to reduce extraction time to 3 hours and simplify process due easy separation of maltol from extracting agent. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 ex
