FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed clutch has two clutch members whose inner surfaces are made in cross section, and rubber and steel tapes in contact with wavy surfaces. Alternating projection s and cavities of wavy shape are made on end faces of clutch members pointed to each other. Inner surface of projections is spherical. Longitudinal holes are made in projections and cavities of flexible steel tape, and cross bends are made on ends of projections of flexible steel tape in contact with projections and cavities of clutch members. Clutch features nonlinear elastic characteristic being capable of transmitting heavy torque. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities of clutch. 3 dwg
