SHAPED CHARGE AMMUNITION Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: armor-piercing bullet of shaped action for plain-barrel guns. SUBSTANCE: shaped charge ammunition of small caliber ( up to 30 mm ) has caliber bullet with combat shaped charge in jacket, bottom fuze and stabilization and safety means. Bullet is put together with wad-container into blank cartridge of plain-barrel gun that includes case with powder charge, cap, fixation and obturation means. Charge is solid. Central fire-communicating tube with cord is placed behind it on centering members. Bottom fuze is inertial one, it includes disc main detonating charge structurally joined to member, washer-shaped pricker with pins and initiating cap charge placed in sequence. The latter is mounted for linear inertial movement towards pricker when bullet meets obstacle and is separated from pricker by countersafety spring. Stabilization means include empennage with stabilizing members in folded state placed within bounds of inner diameter of wad-container. Free end of tube is fitted snugly in hole of wad-container. Safety means can be supplemented with arc-shaped elastic plates which ends are correspondingly located in front of charge and above spring-loaded members.
