METHOD FOR ACCESSING DATA IN DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: computer engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves storage of personal identifier and database access rank signals which are assigned to all users, sending request signals with identifier and description of requested data to DBMS kernel, reading user access rank according to this identifier which is present in query, reading signals into DBMS kernel according to requested data descriptions, which are available in query corresponding to signals of labels of these data which describe access levels to sections and subsections to data, as well as to actions with these data which are allowed for users, and their comparison to user's rank. In case, if user's rank is not less than access level to database section which contains data requested, communication channel to database is established. Goal of invention is achieved by repeated comparison of user's access rank to corresponding access level in course of processing of query, by generation of signals of references to requested data according to their descriptions in query, separation of query signal into separate actions, which are recorded in DBMS kernel upon their execution, production of response to query in DBMS kernel using results of operations performed over references to requested data.
