FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: databases are created in form of relational tables, each described by metadata and containing data arranged into rows of identical structure, each row being identified by a unique number and represented by a set of fields with given data types. The method includes a step of creating a single log which consists of a user-defined number of files of a given size, among which are formed entries, each describing a update redo only on one page of one of the database tables and is intended to redo update in a database that was not recorded in external memory. Further, the method includes undoing all incomplete transactions on a logic level. Restart is performed in three cycles: analytical, redo cycle and undo cycle.
EFFECT: high accuracy of recovering data in databases of database management systems up to the last consistent state of databases without the need for additional random-access memory and external memory for logging.
