FIELD: tobacco industry. SUBSTANCE: tobacco article is manufactured from partially crumbled tobacco leaf placed in tobacco paper enclosure positioned in additional enclosure, which is made from thicker material as compared to that of tobacco paper and is adapted to completely embrace tobacco article. Sizes of additional enclosure exceed that of tobacco article to the extent allowing additional enclosure to be opened without engaging tobacco article and easily withdrawn from additional enclosure. Images such as printed text and/or pictures may be applied to additional enclosure. Method involves forming tobacco article from partially crumbled tobacco leaf and placing it into tobacco paper enclosure; positioning predetermined number of tobacco articles in common package, with some of tobacco articles being placed in individual additional enclosures whose surfaces are provided with images such as printed texts and/or pictures.
