FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: separation of high-boiling fraction of epoxydate is carried out in three fractionating columns. In the first in-line column ethylbenzene recovery fraction is isolated under vacuum by the side-sampling method. Highly volatile fraction is removed as a distillate which is subjected for condensation and water removal followed by distillation off under pressure in the second column to remove ethylbenzene residues. Ethylbenzene is recovered and used for feeding in the first column and vat liquid from the first column is fed into column for isolation of benzaldehyde and then to dehydration reaction of methylphenylcarbinol to styrene. Alternative variant involves the separation of highly volatile fraction obtained in the first column is carried out at first in two condensation systems including settling and water isolation and recovery of hydrocarbon condensate from the first condenser in the first column feeding. Condensate from the second condenser is fed into the second fractionating column where the highly volatile fraction is distilled off as distillate and ethylbenzene recovery fraction is removed with vat liquid. Method provides decrease of energy consumption and formation of high-boiling by-side products.
