FIELD: construction; applicable as load-carrying supports or pillars of building, for instance, supporting pillars, in heat insulation of walls, in window apertures as drainage tubes. SUBSTANCE: exterior contour of building member is H-shaped in cross-section and formed by C-shaped sections 1 and 2 with folds 3-6 at ends opposite to one another and with shelves 7 and 8 embracing over entire length of shelves of other sections of pair. Walls of each C-shaped section in points of shelf adjoining has convex parts 13-16 corresponding to shaped folds of ends of other bent section of pair. In so doing, formed in section shelves may be longitudinal triangular ridges 17 in which fastening may be installed. In this case, holes or breakthroughs may be formed in section walls. EFFECT: extended functional potentialities of box-section building members due to increase of its bearing capacity, reduction of specific quantity of metal and improvement of tightness of its structure. 8 cl, 3 dwg
