FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: method for local prediction of bank transformation in typical platform regions both during early phases of designing, including selection of construction site, and in the course of servicing water reservoirs, as well as for feasibility study of engineering plans of territory protection against adverse geological effects includes application of empirically revealed mechanisms of transformation development with time based on once conducted many-year investigations (measurements) of basic factors and using integral characteristics (type of bank, duration of no-freezing period and volume of transformation) at different phases and characteristics of process development. According to detected degradation, degree of bank retrieval is found from expression V/H, where V is degree of bank degradation, cu.m/m; H is height of abrasive drop wall, m. EFFECT: improved accuracy and promptitude of local prediction, reduced labor consumption for prediction feasibility studies. 6 cl, 1 tbl, 1 ex
