FIELD: construction and mining industries; applicable in measurement of fracture gappings in ground mass and in investigation of deformed building structures. SUBSTANCE: method includes selection of section of exposed surface of fractured ground mass, directions of lines of measurement, and measurement of gappings (openings) of fractures square to fracture walls by detected systems of fractures with the help of various measuring devices. Novelty consists in selection of measurement section of fracture gappings in ground mass, structure position of ground mass is determined in general hierarchic system of earth crust varieties and region covered by obtained results of measurements. Directly before measurements, natural surface of exposure is subjected to mechanical cleaning with trimming, water or air treatment to clean surface of fractures from impurity filler. Several parallel lines of measurement are selected across fractures by revealed systems with consideration of their variability. Fracture gappings are measured by removable wedge-like probes, including truncated ones with an angle of 5 deg and width along extension of 2 cm with tenon, one beveled plane of wedge carrying scale with division value of 1 mm corresponding to 0.1 mm of fracture gapping, and magnet; and other plane square to side end of body provided with handle and recess for tenon of removable probe.
