FIELD: mechanical engineering; reduction gears. SUBSTANCE: rigid and flexible gear wheels are placed into engagement through rim gear pair. Wave generator made in form of flexible bearing is mounted on high speed shaft of two-top cam. Cam body is made in form of soft envelope filled with ferromagnetic liquid controlled by magnetic field built by electromagnet-solenoid. The latter is arranged on rigid gear wheel symmetrically relative to cross plane of symmetry of cam and gear rim and is energized through potentiometer. Harmonic gear drive features high reliability owing to removal of internal mechanical stresses from flexible gear wheel at disengagement.
