FIELD: radiation protection. SUBSTANCE: surfaces of metallic (steel, nonferrous metals, their alloys) objects are treated for 1 to 24 h at 20 to 95 C with aqueous deactivating solution containing carboxylic acids constituting caprolactam production acidic waste. Invention enables efficient one- step deactivation of various metals including those with surface corrosion products of paint-varnish coatings with relatively small volume of exhaust solution.
