FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: framework following shape and dimensions of object to be faced taking into account value of shrinkage of ceramic material utilized is used as shaping means. Clay-based ceramic material is shaped on that framework as follows: the latter is filled with ceramic material and volume elements are modeled simulating form of natural stone and preserving monolithic character of ceramic material on framework on the whole. Volume elements are specifically finished and ceramic material is cut over visual joining planes of volume elements. After partial surface drying, elements are freed from framework and ceramic material is removed from each of them to form or not strengthening ribs and/or process openings. Montage of volume elements dyed with ceramic dye and fired on object to be faced is carried out keeping the same arrangement of volume elements as it was on framework. EFFECT: enabled unique appearance of facing structures, improved decorative richness and expressiveness, and reduced consumption of ceramic material. 4 cl
