FIELD: thermal nondestructive inspection of power electrical equipment, specifically, thyristors of thyristor converters. SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for timely detection of defective thyristors used in thyristor converter without taking whole article to special testing mode. Increased reliability of gear is achieved thanks to test and prediction of change of difference between actual temperature of structure of thyristor and temperature obtained with the aid of equivalent model.
