WORKING ATTACHMENT OF MOTOR GRADER Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: earth-cutting and moving machinery and equipment. SUBSTANCE: working attachment of motor grader has drawbar frame, toothed rim with turning circle. Mounted on base brackets of turning circle through its eye-lugs and by means of pivoted joints is mouldboard which can turn in vertical plane. Axle of each pivoted joint is made in the form of power-driven shaft. One end of power-driven shaft is rigidly connected with corresponding eye-lug of mouldboard. Other end of power-driven shaft is installed in bearing. Housing of this bearing is rigidly fastened on corresponding base bracket of turning circle. Located inside bearing housing on power-driven shaft is dual freewheeling roller clutch of double-action. Cage of freewheeling clutch is rigidly fastened in housing, and through star-members it is rigidly connected with shaft. Pulling yoke of freewheeling clutch is connected with rod of corresponding mouldboard control hydraulic cylinder for purpose of converting advance motion of cylinder rod into rotating motion of yoke. This is obtained due to nonself-braking threaded joint. Mouldboard of motor grader is provided with additional upper cutting blade. Higher productive capacity, fuel economy, and wider operational potentialities of motor grader are achieved due to turning of mouldboard through 180 deg. and larger in vertical plane, thus allowing for increasing angular velocity of mouldboard turning up to velocity level of other mechanisms of motor grader, and this makes unnecessary idle running in reverse gear at working passes of 100 m and larger especially in operating on narrow embankments.
