FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: adjustable charger has ac voltage supply 1, thyristor rectifier switch 2 with current-limiting capacitor 3 and storage capacitor 4 that functions as voltage doubler, clock generator 10, as well as device synchronizing moment of thyristor switch turn- on in response to clock pulses with moment when ac voltage supply crosses zero. Charger is provided, in addition, with controlled circuit set up of resistor 12 and switching member 13 for discharging current-limiting capacitor 3 of rectifier within time step of storage capacitor discharge.
