METHOD OF PREDICTING COW MILK PRODUCTIVITY Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: animal farming, in particular, cattle breeding. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining hoof horn growth rate by measuring its linear sizes and detecting changes in linear sizes; predicting increase in milk productivity by increased rate of hoof horn growth, which is calculated from formula: C(gr) , where C(gr) is hoof horn growth rate, mm/day; MB is distance from mark to hoof crown, mm; T is time from mark application moment to final measurement moment, days. Method eliminates necessity for employment of highly qualified personnel and allows personnel of average skill to perform measurements and employment of expensive equipment for predicting cow milk productivity to be avoided.
