METHOD OF DRYING OF LOOSE BUILDING MATERIAL Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: construction industry, applicable for heating, drying, calcination of construction materials with due account for environmental purity. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in feeding of raw material, for instance clay, to a ripper, coarse milling rollers with plain rollers, clay store, paddle mixer, milling unit, perforated rollers, drum drier, with simultaneous pick-up, cleaning and exhaust of dust-free gases, further feeding of product being treated to a rotary drying kiln, then to a layer refrigerator. Speed, creating a strictly definite trajectory of fall of material with milling rollers, is imparted to rotating material. Feed of gas burners with cross-wise lying opposite arranged flows of burning gases is accomplished to the interiors of the drying drum and rotary kiln, they intersect the zone of radial section of material being dried and/or calcined. The gas flow pressure is agreed with the speed of axial feed of heat flow. After drying and moulding the drying drum and rotary kiln are inclined, and the ready-made product is discharged into the refrigerator with a simultaneous by-pass of gas flow.
