FIELD: nuclear power engineering and other industries using radioactive materials. SUBSTANCE: underground structure space is made in the form of continuous horizontally spiral opening divided into segments by radial distributing and transportation tunnels; segments, in their turn, are divided into two parts by non-tight partitions. Number of spiral turns is chosen depending on amount of wastes; number of transverse- radial tunnels and tight partitions depends on types of wastes and capacity of loading equipment. Spiral turn first from center is transportation turn; points of its intersection with transverse-radial distributing and transportation tunnels as well as point of intersection of the latter with each turn being filled with wastes are provided with turntables. EFFECT: reduced time and cost of construction, improved safety in handling and isolation of radioactive wastes. 1 dwg
