GROUND-EFFECT MACHINE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: transport facilities, mainly, hovercraft; hovering craft, type flying wing. SUBSTANCE: ground-effect machine has stabilizing devices in form of fins and revolving flapper. Ground-effect machine is also provided with device for contact with runway. Passenger cabin is located under flapper compartment and occupies entire volume of inner cavity of center-wing section. Above-mentioned device for contact with runway surface may be made in form of swivel ski located in front and rear parts of rigid ski. Rigid ski has slope over lower surface from center to rear ends. Thickness of rigid skis comes to nothing towards their rear ends. Ground-effect machine may be provided with double bottom monolithically filled with sound-absorbing material, foam plastic for example. EFFECT: increased cargo hoisting capacity; facilitated take-off and landing; reduced formation of noise by water. 3 cl, 11 dwg
