FIELD: synthetic rubber industry, more particularly, manufacture of addition agents, lubricants, adhesives, mastics and other products. SUBSTANCE: polymerization process is carried out in toluene, n-hexane, isopentane, xylene containing water in amount from 0.0003 to 0.006 wt % at temperatures from -40 C to -80 C by initially introducing isobutylene within 10-50 wt % total amount preformed catalyst complex from titanium tetrachloride, butadiene or isoprene, organoaluminium compound selected from group consisting of wherein R1R′ are C4, C10-20 radicals hydrocarbon respectively, n is not more than 20 based on titanium, to diene to organoaluminium compound molar ratios from 1:3:1:0 to 1:8:0.05 in amount of 0.1-2.0 moles per 100 kg of monomer with respect to titanium tetrachloride and the remaining pert of isobutylene is then continuously introduced and is polymerized at temperature mentioned above, monomer being added as soon as least 90% conversion is attained at first stage, and process is carried out till 50-80 wt % of polymer is finally present in solution. Method makes it possible to prepare highly reactive low molecular polyisobutylene with predetermined molecular parameters, regulate its unsaturation within wide range and significantly widen range of solvent and organoaluminium compound.
