FIELD: chemical technology, organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: polymer is synthesized by polymerization of isobutylene or isobutylene-containing mixtures in solvent in the presence of Lewis acid as a catalyst and modifying addition. The latter is taken from group including the following compounds: product of interaction of equimolar amounts of trialkylaluminium with alkanolamine, polyalloxan, dialkylaluminium hydride or triisobutylaluminium in mixture of the above indicated compounds, or triisobutylaluminium in mixture with of the first three above indicated compounds. Aluminium trichloride or titanium tetrachloride were used as Lewis acid. Method can include the decalcification stage of polymer using solid sorbents.
