FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: according to method, two flat steel sheets are placed one upon other, ends of sheets are aligned and connected together. If bands of three-dimensional covering plate are made of one flat steel sheet, then sheet is bent in middle, ends of sheet are aligned and then are connected together, or flat sheet can be bent over two bending lines. Position of bending lines is determined so that joint of sheet ends is in zone of minimal stresses. Then, sheets are profiled in combination for creation of longitudinal corrugations. Bands of covering plate are extended relative to each other together with heating of end parts and are fixed by means of intermediate structural components. Application of aforesaid method simplifies production and reduces number of components used in production of covering plate. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 5 dwg
