FIELD: manufacture of pumps; liquid-propellant rocker engines; cavitation-free operation of pumps of main turbo-pump unit. SUBSTANCE: booster pumping unit includes axial-flow pump 1, axial hydraulic turbine 2, starting gas turbine 3 and separating seal 4. Axial hydraulic turbine 2 includes wheel rotor 18, nozzle 19 for delivery of liquid to and discharge of it from hydraulic turbine. Wheel rotor 18 of hydraulic turbine is secured over periphery of blades 14 of pump impeller. Nozzle 19 for delivery of liquid to hydraulic turbine 2 is made in hydraulic turbine supply branch pipe. Starting gas turbine 3 is mounted on side opposite to supply branch pipe 8. Separating seal 4 is jet combination of impeller 5 and slotted seal 36 mounted between turbine 3 and pump 1. Booster pumping unit makes it possible to effect preliminary cooling of liquid-propellant rocket engine construction working on cryogenic components and to ensure high rate of picking up pressure and revolutions of turbo-pump unit in case of fast start of liquid-propellant rocket engine. EFFECT: reduction of overall dimensions; improved mass characteristics due to constructional combination of gas turbine and axial-flow pump. 5 dwg
