FIELD: veterinary science. SUBSTANCE: prophylaxis and treatment of suckling-piglets with alimentary and asiderotic anemia is carried out with iron-containing preparations. Conventional scheme involves two-fold intramuscular injection of iron preparations at the dose 2-3 ml/head for the first 10 days of animal life (100-375 mg of Fe). Proposed method replaces the repeated injection of iron for a solution containing zinc glycinate, copper glycinate and potassium iodide. Method enhances hemopoiesis intensity, accelerates normalization of hematological indices, protein, carbohydrate and mineral metabolism and increases living mass gain and safety of young pigs.
