SUBSTANCE: catalytic composition suitable for olefin polymerization contains co-catalyst and transition metal complex of formula X-M(L₂) wherein X is polydentate monoanionic ligand of formula ; M is reduced IY, V or VI group transition metal; Y cyclopentadienyl, amidino, or phosphidino group bound to M; R optional -hydrocarbon bridge between Y group and C₁-C₂₀ group or Ar group; D electronodonor heteroatom (P or S); R' substituent chosen from hydrogen atom or C₁-C₂₀- hydrocarbon group; Ar electronodonor aryl group; L monoanionic ligand bound to M, particularly alkyl, aryl, arylalkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, and groups containing heteroatom (P or S), substituted C_p group, amido and phosphido group, ether-amines, phosphines, and thioethers; m = 0 for M³⁺, m = 1 for M⁴⁺, and m = 2 for M⁵⁺; n = 1 or 2; and q+s = 1.
