FIELD: drilling instrumentation. SUBSTANCE: device can be used on drilling rigs. Device has primary converter of advance motion into rotary motion which is made up of wheel pressed against assembly fastening rope, and disk with alternating metal and non-metal sectors, two inductive positioning switches, calculating unit for measuring interruptions, unit for initial setting of measurements, and indication unit. At movement of rope connected to drilling tool, rotation of wheel and disk takes place, metal sectors of disk come into zones of action of inductive positioning switches. Signals from operating inductive positioning switches are directed to calculating unit where signals are processed with delivery of actual drilling depth indication values. Application of aforesaid device allows for simplified and reliable measuring of drilling depth. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 dwg
