FIELD: automatic control and computer engineering. SUBSTANCE: system has stationary and mobile devices. Stationary device has microcontroller, indicator unit, optical input and output channels, and radio wave energy transmitter. Mobile device has microcontroller, optical input and output channels, and radio wave energy receiver. Microcontroller software has driver that couples it with higher-level computer. Both microcontrollers have drivers which intercouple them through optical input and output channels to ensure two-way exchange of data blocks. Stationary device can operate in two modes. In first mode, reading off mobile device is enabled only when it moves within working range of stationary device. In second mode, data may be read and/or recorded from mobile device when it is motionless and resides in working zone of stationary device. EFFECT: simplified design, improved reliability, and reduced cost of system parts. 2 dwg
