FIELD: medical devices. SUBSTANCE: method uses inductance coil, which serves as component of oscillatory circuit which also has capacitor which is connected in parallel to inductance coil. Said method involves measuring impedance of oscillatory circuit at resonant frequency with and without biological object which is located inside winding of measuring inductance coil. Ratio of received readings which is greater than 1.4 leads to diagnostics of edema. Corresponding device has high-frequency oscillator, which output is connected to serial circuit of ballast resistor and two terminals which are connected in parallel to measuring unit. In addition device has resonance oscillatory circuit, which has parallel circuit of measuring inductance coil and capacitor. Outputs of oscillatory circuit are connected to device terminals. Operation of measurement of impedance of patient's head involves measurement of high-frequency losses of all components. EFFECT: increased validity of diagnostics. 2 cl, 3 dwg
