FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has oscillation unit having impulse generator, impulse shaper, power amplifier, transducer having inductance coil and constant capacity capacitor connected in series and recorder which input is connected to transducer unit output. Two metal electrodes are connected to transducer output leads using bipolar adapter and two constant capacity capacitors. Circuit having bipositional switch and variable resistor connected in series is mounted in parallel to transducer output. The device measures volumetric and near-surface impedance of biological object. Recording unit measures Q-factor of measuring oscillatory circuit. To take measurements, shock excitation method is applied. The method involves determining free oscillation damping decrement in parallel oscillatory circuit.
