FIELD: application of decorative coats on solid backing, pattern in particular simulating for wood texture on fiber boards. SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of surface of backing including application of background primer, application of pattern on prepared surface by means of printing ink by indirect intaglio printing and hardening of coat thus applied. Used as printing ink is powder-like polymer aqueous dispersion; hardening is performed by melting powder polymer mixture through action of thermal shock followed by cooling, thus forming monolithic homogeneous product. Plant used for realization of this method includes transporting conveyer, device for application of back-ground primer, at least one device for indirect intaglio printing with additional offset roller and device for hardening the coat applied. Offset roller is provided with elastic-deformation surface for compensation for difference in thickness and irregularity on backing; device for hardening the coat is made in form of heating chamber heated by infra-red radiation source. EFFECT: facilitated procedure of application of decorative coats; simplified construction of plant; enhanced strength characteristics of printed coat; minimization of toxic evaporation in course of application of coat. 4 cl, 1 dwg
