METHOD OF ASSEMBLING CABLE ADAPTER Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: drilling equipment. SUBSTANCE: this is used for extending drilling tool at directed drilling without removing bottom-hole measuring unit. According to method, first assembled are sealing and through-flow parts. For this purpose, screwed on drilling string is lower part of adapter body, and bottom-hole instrument is lowered by means of geophysical cable. Successively assembled on it are first locking bushes, sealing plug, other locking bushes, clamping bush, and cable holder. This assembly unit is introduced into lower part of adapter body as far as it will go and is tightened by nut. Then, through-flow part is created of two pipes. One of pipes is installed in lower part of body. After that, upper part of adapter body is introduced into lower part so that geophysical cable is seated into slot of adapter body, thread is tightened, other pipe is installed which is connected with first pipe and secured by nut. Then cable is fastened by cover plate with two bolts. Application of aforesaid method increases breaking strength of body together with possibility of reducing overall dimensions at sufficient strength. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 dwg
