FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method and device can be used in extraction of minerals with high productive capacity and without extra equipment. Method implies application of powered support with stoping facilities and conveyor which are covered by upper beams of support system. Powered mechanisms of stoping facilities can deviate on turning pads on upper beams in plane located at right angle with respect to seam. Sections are advanced after every other section. After advancement, extraction of mineral is effected by stoping facilities of these sections. Stoping facilities operate continuously performing arch-like motions with digging mineral over entire height of work face. Turning pad can be located at determined height by means of pneumatic drive. Stoping facility is made in the form of frontal skimmer which can have cutting edge over entire width of section. Frontal skimmer can be provided with bucket. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 26 cl, 3 dwg
