SUBSTANCE: unit of chain drum for chain scraper conveyors with single or double intermediate chain has split chain wheel whose cup-like segments are connected with closing at rotation with shaft of chain drum installed in supports non support parts of frame side cheeks at both sides of chain wheel. Has also ring parts arranged at both sides of chain wheel and enclosing the shaft and fixing chain wheel in set position on shaft. One of ring parts is made in form of lockring rotating together with chain wheel and consisting of segments connected to each other with possibility of separation and radial removal from shaft. Segments of split chain wheel are connected with shaft for rotary closing by means of key joint and with possibility of radially removing from shaft after taking lockring or rings out of unit and loosening of key joint. Special tool is used for separating holding rings enclosing segments of chain wheel at demounting of chain drum. Said tool consists of cutters applied to holding ring. Both parts of cutters connected by joint are provided with gripping surfaces of blocks made for turning towards each other in direction of opening and closing. Gripping surfaces are applied to diametrically opposite sides of holding ring circumference. EFFECT: facilitated servicing. 36 cl, 14 dwg
