FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves pulling stalks; forming stalk strip; bruising, combing and spreading stalk strip, with bruising being performed simultaneously with forming flax strip. In the process of flax strip formation, flax stalks are subjected to multiple bruising in bruising rollers gradually increasing in thickness according to increasing of flax strip thickness. Force applied by bruising rollers to flax layer is increasing in accordance with increase in flax strip thickness. Fiber flax harvesting combine has frame 16 with sectioned pulling unit 2 provided with inner and outer half-sections 3, 4 positioned in each section, and pair of bruising rollers 7,8. Lower roller 7 is mounted in axial alignment with drive pulley 6 of outer half-section 4 and has diameter at least equal to that of outer surface of belt of outer half-section 4 on portion of drive pulley 6. Upper bruising roller 8 is positioned above lower roller 7 for movement in vertical plane. Flax harvesting combine is further provided with clamping conveyor 9 and combing drum 10. Bruising rollers 7 and 8 are positioned in related pulling sections. Frame 16 has guides 17 rigidly fixed on frame so as to run about pulley 6 of inner section 3 of each pulling section and further in the course of working path.
